We are learning all about the world of ceramic coatings! We'll learn: What is a 9H ceramic coating? How much do ceramic coatings cost? How to apply a ceramic coating? What is a nano coating? This is all thanks to XPEL who I’ve partnered with on the video to learn about the ever popular world of coatings. They’ve recently launched their new product Fusion Plus, and what I appreciate about XPEL is that they’re very realistic about what ceramic coatings can and can’t do.
If you’ve followed the ceramic coating craze lately, you may hear claims like these coatings completely preventing scratches and rock chips, or that you’ll never need to wash your car again. Not exactly accurate, but that’s not to take away from the very real benefits that these coatings provide, like the ease of maintaining your paint’s cleanliness, protection from things like tree sap, bug guts, and bird dropping, the deep, glossy appearance, and of course the very popular hydrophobic, or water-repelling, qualities.
So let’s start with how it works, why it’s useful, and then get into some of the more common misconceptions. XPEL’s ceramic coating, fusion plus, is a silicon based product. So you have a carrier fluid containing nano-particles, and these tiny particles create an inseparable bond with your paintwork that can’t easily be washed off like a wax or sealant. Really, one of the easiest ways to think about a ceramic coating is like a semi-permanent wax or sealant.
Regarding pricing for XPEL Fusion Plus, if a car is fully wrapped in paint protective film, it will be about $800 to $1,000 depending on the size of the vehicle and local labor rates. If paint correction is required, the cost will range from about $1,200 to $2,000, depending on the level of correction required and local labor rates.

So I need to respray my car. put on a film and then the ceramic coating Giddy up!
The xpell its EXXXXpensive!!!
That is amazing. If only I had the money to buy my cars new, with PPF and that no one had taken through a carwash.
Don't understand why you would put ceramic coating over the film.
You didn't list any of the myths???? So does the ceramic coating protect at all from scratches?
I had my truck ceramic coating from The Tint Company in Pompano Beach, Florida. My truck looks amazing and I got a 3 year warranty. They also did my glass and plastic trim. It took them a full day and I had to pick up my truck the next day. I recommend them. Thanks for the video.
is ceramic coating heat resistant? And if so to how many degrees? If I wanted to ceramic coat my valve cover or engine parts which are painted using heat resistant paint,,,is it advisable? Will it last or will it peel off due to heat?
I tried to ceramic coat my car. Covered it with a thin layer of clay, then fired it at 2000f to turn it into a ceramic. Now I have a ceramic shell with no car inside.
Good video 👍
Koor koor koor koor koor koor koor koor koor koor koor kooor!!
so slight scratches on the car will heal themself in the sun...just like Superman...

What do I win?
I love you.
So about 2k to coat my Model S. Seems extreme. I'd rather wax my car twice a year. (Whole care once and just the top areas twice) The protective wrap makes sense but only to the front, hood, mirrors and partial top of car as that's what gets hit on my highway commutes and that's about 1k. I'm a car guy, waxing is part of the game. But if you do t like waxing and have 2k laying around... thats alot of tires!
Thank you!
I wonder how much this cost
Do people really care this much about there cars? My cars are both over 10 years old. I wash them about 6 times a year and just spay on wax about twice a year. They still look great 👍
Well Sir, I've subbed. I've watched a few of your videos but this one went into extra detail to show how coatings work. It is a great video like many of your others
Great video!!! You provided answers to all of my questions. I'm awaiting my new AMG GT53, that I've ordered a few weeks ago, and do want to cover the front half of the vehicle with a clear film, as an added protection from road debris and Love-bugs, since I live in Florida. I then want to apply the ceramic coating to the entire vehicle exterior, for that extra shine. Thanks again!
Another scam produce. Suckers buy
holy molly this is so cool
you should be doing this in Non dust positive pressure ventilation room specifically for this job.
Ceramic coating seems almost to good to be true!
Yesterday I just added Meguiar's hybrid ceramic wax on my car
Think of the healing as residual stresses within the material that allow it to return to its “known” form/link when excited by heat/energy. If you want more info, I can ask; a close friend got his degrees in plastics engineering, chemistry, and molecular science
Will a ceramic coating stop chronic single stage red paint oxidation after it has been buffed back?
4:47 White dust or smudge getting ready to be coated.
Why they don't do it from factory...?!
Ceramic coatings makes repainting a car extremely hard!!! So if your a hot rod guy or plan on painting your car in the near future stay away from ceramics until after the fresh paint is on the car
My car needs some paint and small body work but I bet if I get those fixed this stuff would look great on it. I’m OCD about water spots. I wash and hand dry my car at least once a week. I use a squeegee type thing that does a 99% dry in 30 minutes on a big car.
Its too bad this wasn't a commercial.
They couldnt make the bottle anything bigger than that lube bottle ?
lol eee a
Bye bye rain-x
Is it true the ceramic coating bonds into the pore of the clearcoat? Actually, does the clearcoat really have pores?
One of the BEST "info-videos" ever!! thanks!!
Great video!! Nice product this fusion !! Keep it up!!
After applying how long it valid ..
I thought he dumped a bucket of manure on his car lol
How will it help with bugs, mainly love bugs? Will it help keep them from sticking?
Ahmazingg
love the video and explanation... Thanks so much
This ceramic coating does this in a week or 2 then gone wasted $$$$$
If a ceramic coating mainly just makes it so I don't have to wax, it's not worth it to me. Turtle Wax Ice seal and shine is incredibly fast and easy to install and easily lasts 6 months, maybe a year. It takes just a few minutes and no PPE or paint correction required. It is also cheap. Try it, you won't go back to wax. Just watch any review for it on NOlocal.
So it is still recommended to wash the car, albeit lightly, EVERY WEEK? Doesn't sound like it saves that much time then.
Shouldn't all cars just come with this? It's 2020
Just got a new car... Im tired of washing it. I miss my old car which I never washed
Id totally get this but it costs as much as my car
Can ceramic coating apply on lexan glass?
Does it have UV protection?
It lasts for 1-3 years? No way. Where do you buy this specific Fusion coating?
how much did this all cost both the film and the ceramic coating
All surfaces have micro pores and nano particles go and fill them up and stick there and become one with the surface. They give a fuller and richer look .
very informative video. Thank you
Where can I get this done in UK?
Got my new Taco yesterday. For $7 more added to the monthly payments, I get both both underbody and paint ceramic coatings. Salty roads here in the winter and bird droppings everywhere. 10yr warranty on both coatings. No brainer decision.
I have a query. Wouldn't it help in reducing air friction as well. At least may have reduced heating problem in supersonic jets. Maybe it will help in car on a warm day.
how much would xpel film cost on a F30 BMW?
8:16 deeper grooves at level 7
Damn, I clicked off this video when I realized I was watching the equivalent of Color Code 2000 as they showed back in the 90s
So, aren't these horrible for the environment?
Great job explanation this stuff.
I’d buy a bridge in Brooklyn from you. 😂 Thanks for the video!
Does the pricing you showed include both the paint protection film and the ceramic coating, or is that just the film?
Cool. Who knows how I can buy this ceramic coating myself?
it's "Nie-osh" not "Nee-osh" hahahahaha
Why don't you prepare the surface by polishing the orange peel before ceramic coating?
Wow!! They didn’t seem bothered by wearing masks to do this job!! I’m SHOCKED they could breathe through the WHOLE process!!
So, what happens when someone hits your car and you need to have the repair painted?

Then that surface needs to be corrected, film put back on (if you had that) and coated with a new bottle of ceramic coat. You have to make sure you report that to the insurance company and product documents. The only crappy part is if the other party is underinsured then their insurance may not cover the cost.
So what you're saying is, using the PPF and ceramic coating is a Wombo combo.
Ceramic coatings are for exhaust systems and are fired to cure them. Don't know why this car wax stuff keeps coming up when I search for a thermal protective exhaust ceramic coating. :-(
Is it OK to use a shemagh on ceramic coating to dry a car after washing?
Thank you so much. This video really explains what both products do and don't do. I went and had both applied to my new truck. I can't wait to see what it looks like and how it performs.
Lol this is nothing but a gimmic for idiots. Basic Wax works alot better. Take it from a professional automotive painter.
"everything you need to know about ceramic coatings | up to speed"
that gun metal gray tesla is sexy af.
I am happy with my expel ppf but definitly bug guts will stain it unless washed off right away, also rock chips are getting through but I can only hope its helping. Also my ceramic coating experience has been not favorable. It seems like waterspots ruin the ceramic coating , after 3 months my ceramic coating was failing, refreshed it at that time and 3 months later I dont think its doing anything at all.
Clay bar as a prep ok?
Is this a level 1 coating ?
Owning a car is so complicated now days.
Can you explain the difference between the "Professionally" applied ceramic coatings to those "Consumer" applied ceramic coatings.
Do I even need to apply that to a new car? My paint job looks great, beading well. Garage stored. Rarely driving now. Only 103 mile so far. When should I consider buying/applying it?
Hi
You have to apply wax after you wash your car? AAhahaha. Here, in soviet russia we know only one way of washing your car - squirt it with pressurized water. usually you do it twice a year after raining seasons
Just polish your vehicle with Nu Finish, its magic stuff.
Now I wonder how many hundreds of dollars it costs?
How about protective film on only the areas most at risk to rock chips in the front, and ceramic coating over the entire car (not windows or headlights/tail lights) ?
Great and Thank you So Much and Trillions likes and best comments and We get in to 5G internet now So we need a new posts of videos or photos in Real Best Full 4K 240fps Resolution quality clarity and also The Sound system in Real Best Stereo Full HD Resolution quality clarity 3D surround , soon please .
I just waxed my new truck with a high end wax. Can I apply a ceramic coat on top of the 2 layers of wax I just applied?
I applied the ceramic but accidentally didn't wipe it down 100%. Now it leaves some rainbows or chemical spots. Is there anyway to remove it? I tried the Goof Off but didn't work.
How would it do on a hull of a boat
This is the EE version of the InrangeTV mud test!
How much for 2018 black Sierra
Am i correct to say no carwashes? Just a home wash down
Oh we know the real reason why it's only allowed to be "installed by trained professionals" and its none of the reasons you listed.
But... Who would coat a Tesla?. Waste of product, ugly car...
Hi guys, does this coating have any resistance to solvents like acetone?
🔥
ceramic coatings also protect from swirl marks from bad washing not heavy scratches like the film which can handle heavy scratches
Alligator Window Tint says this coating can be ruined by scrubbing it with your finger, so any accident will make you lose your almost $2,000 investment, I'm sorry but is not worth it unless you don't care.
